Expected participant outcomes

This professional learning provides the participants with

  • A framework to enable them to include Protective Behaviours processes in the classroom
  • The Protective Behaviours framework fundamentals
  • Strategies to include the school community in the Protective Behaviours processes
  • A demonstrated understanding of the themes of PBs and how they connect with safe spaces in the classroom
  • The opportunity to utilise and value the role of Protective Behaviours in anti-victimisation strategies and the “choose not to victimise” mindset
  • Demonstrated ability in using and adapting Protective Behaviours body safety lesson plans
  • Discuss the role of Protective Behaviours in helping our children, young and vulnerable people to feel safe
  • Opportunity to explore the signs and indicators of child abuse and neglect.

Additionally, participants will

  • Engage in planning interactive body safety lessons
  • Discuss the legislation, policy and process regarding mandatory reporting
  • Learn how to manage a disclosure

Course Length
This course goes for one full day.
