child sexual abuse and the sexualisation of our children is a national crisis. if you or a member of your family has been affected,

At PB West, we provide support for families and children who have been impacted by sexual abuse, and /or harmful sexualised behaviours. Supporting children and their families on their journey to healing.

We aim to support children, young people, and their families in managing the trauma related to child sexual abuse, and provide skills to assist the child and their family to feel safe in the future.

The Supportive Protective Behaviours Education Program (SEP) at PB West utilises an outreach model of “edu-therapy”—a blend of educational and therapeutic interventions focused on teaching children and young people who have experienced Child Sexual abuse (aged 3–18) Protective Behaviours, safety planning, and resilience-building skills.

This model is delivered one-on-one in locations where the child or young person feels safest, such as their school, home, or a trusted community centre, rather than requiring them to attend a clinical office. Sessions (typically 5–12 weeks, 1.5 hours per session. and tailored to the individual’s interests and pace to avoid re-traumatisation, particularly for those at risk of or who have experienced child sexual abuse (CSA) or other traumas.

The outreach program involves (non-offending)  caregivers in the initial session, a 2.5-hour session to provide them with the knowledge, skills, supports, and strategies to be able to assist their child and/or young person heal and regain their power, at home.
