Trainers of this course are mentored by International Protective Behaviours elder and creator of the social and emotional context of Protective Behaviours, Di Margetts.
Di Margetts, who originally designed the course, describes it as “Four days of immersing ourselves in the Protective Behaviours Process”.
Understanding each element of the Protective Behaviours process and when and how to utilise each element is essential to becoming a Advanced Practitioner. This course is for people who wish to develop a deeper understanding of the Protective Behaviours process and want to be able to put the ideas into practice. By doing this Practitioners become more confident using the Protective Behaviours ideas and concepts.
This course is a required step for someone wishing to be a trainer. “We clearly cannot become a trainer without having a deep understanding of all elements of the process”.
This course is in two parts over several weeks.
There is an initial two full days, followed by a course break, where the expectation is that participants will apply skills and knowledge, participate in reflection, critical review and work submission.
The training ends with a final two day workshop.
Training is suitable for all staff in community organisations, schools, health, social services and early year’s sectors and government departments who work with children and young people.
Successful completion of the Universal Practitioner Course is a prerequisite for entry into the Advanced Practitioner Training.
This course is also a prerequisite for the Train the Trainer course.
